PARKESBURG, PA — A Parkesburg man was taken into custody after police alleged his report of a stolen vehicle collapsed under investigation, revealing that the car had been wrecked and abandoned following a crash he was driving, according to the Parkesburg Borough Police Department.
Police said 35-year-old Kevin Darryl Williams contacted authorities during the early morning hours of January 16, 2026, reporting that his vehicle had been stolen from the 400 block of West First Avenue. As officers began investigating the report, the vehicle was later located crashed and abandoned in neighboring Sadsbury Township.
Through the course of the investigation, police allege they determined that Williams had been operating the vehicle at the time of the crash and fled the scene before reporting the car as stolen. Based on those findings, Williams was arrested and transported to the Chester County Prison.
Authorities also confirmed that the Pennsylvania State Parole has lodged a detainer against Williams related to prior felony convictions, which will be addressed separately through the parole process.
Williams has been charged with false reports and related offenses. All charges are allegations, and Williams is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
