AVONDALE, PA — Pennsylvania State Police at the Avondale barracks investigated a wide range of alleged criminal incidents, traffic crashes, and disturbances across southern Chester County in recent weeks, according to a multi-incident press release covering cases reported between January 4 and January 23.
On January 23, troopers were dispatched to Pennsbury Township for reports of criminal mischief along Parkerville Road and East Street Road. Police said multiple victims from Kennett Square reported damage to vehicles and property. Investigators are continuing to review the incidents.
That same day, troopers responded to Jennersville Road in Londonderry Township at approximately 2:02 p.m. for an alleged harassment by communication incident. Police reported a 49-year-old woman from Coatesville was arrested in connection with the investigation, which remains pending.
Earlier on January 22, state police were called to Ledum Run Road in Penn Township at approximately 4:49 p.m. for an alleged domestic violence incident. A 14-year-old male from New Castle, Delaware, was listed as the arrestee, and a 34-year-old female was identified as the victim. The investigation is ongoing.
Troopers also investigated multiple traffic crashes throughout the region. On January 22, a two-vehicle crash was reported on Gap Newport Pike in London Grove Township at approximately 7:07 a.m. Police said both drivers were wearing seat belts and no injuries were reported. One driver was cited for careless driving.
Another crash occurred on January 19 near Baltimore Pike and Chadds Ford Elementary School in Pennsbury Township. Police said two vehicles sustained minor damage and no injuries were reported. One driver was cited for careless driving.
On January 18, troopers responded to Newark Road and Powell Lane in Penn Township for a single-vehicle crash. Police said the driver lost control while negotiating a curve, struck a guardrail, and came to rest off the roadway. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was towed.
State police also handled several non-traffic incidents, including an attempted suicide report on Ivy Drive in East Nottingham Township on January 19, a retail theft investigation at a Giant store on Dilworthtown Road in Thornbury Township on January 18, and an alleged drug possession incident reported at the Chester County Technical College on January 7.
Additional cases under investigation include a reported theft of an aluminum bass boat and riding lawn mower from a property on Street Road in Lower Oxford Township, an alleged domestic disturbance on Irving Drive in Penn Township, and a welfare check on U.S. Route 1 near Jennersville Road that resulted in an alleged drug possession investigation.
State police emphasized that all incidents remain under investigation unless otherwise noted and that details may change as additional information becomes available.
