DOYLESTOWN, PA — A Philadelphia man employed at a Doylestown behavioral health facility has been arrested following allegations that he assaulted a juvenile patient under his care.
According to the Central Bucks Regional Police Department, 35-year-old Dwayne Shepherd, Jr., a staff member at Foundations Behavioral Health, was taken into custody on October 22, 2025, by the Cheltenham Police Department on an active warrant. Shepherd was later transported to Central Bucks Regional Police headquarters, where he was booked, arraigned, and released on $400,000 unsecured bail.
The arrest warrant, issued on October 10 under docket number MJ-07208-CR-0000348-2025, stems from an incident that police say was captured on surveillance video. The footage allegedly shows Shepherd removing a calm, care-dependent juvenile from a common area couch, placing the juvenile’s hand in a gooseneck position, and escorting them to their bedroom. When the juvenile attempted to leave, Shepherd allegedly forcefully pushed the child back inside.
Investigators report that video footage shows the juvenile’s upper back and neck appearing red after the encounter, with additional marks visible across the back. Prior footage reportedly showed no such injuries.
Shepherd faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, simple assault, abuse of a care-dependent person, and harassment.
Police said the case remains under investigation.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
