Social Media Video Leads Police to Probe Assault — Suspect Sought in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have opened an investigation into an alleged assault that occurred around midnight Friday in the 1600 block of Delaware Avenue after a video of the incident surfaced on social media Saturday, according to the department.

Investigators in the Criminal Investigations Division reviewed the footage, identified the victim, and began gathering evidence. Police said the assault was not reported at the time it occurred, and the inquiry remains active.
