Shots-Fired Call Leads to Gun Allegations and Arrest on Superfine Lane

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police arrested a 26-year-old man early Wednesday morning after responding to reports of gunfire on Superfine Lane, according to details released by the department.

Officers from the Uniformed Services Division were dispatched to the 1900 block of Superfine Lane at approximately 3:50 a.m. on December 3 following a shots-fired report. Police say no injuries were reported. Upon arrival, officers identified Lafel Crawford Jr. as a suspect connected to the incident. He was taken into custody without incident.

During the investigation, officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.

Crawford has been charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon and discharging a firearm on a city street. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and released on $7,000 secured bail.

All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
