CLAYMONT, DE — Two Pennsylvania residents are facing felony firearm charges after a shots fired investigation Tuesday evening, authorities said.
According to Delaware State Police, troopers responded at approximately 6:30 p.m. March 31, 2026, to the Claymont Transit Center in the 100 block of Transit Center Drive for a report of shots fired.
Police reported that responding troopers stopped a Kia Soul leaving a service road near the train tracks.
Authorities said the driver was identified as 58-year-old Robert Morrison and the passenger as 35-year-old Cori Morrison, both of Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania. Troopers learned the individuals were allegedly target shooting near the Delaware River.
According to investigators, a search of the vehicle allegedly revealed two loaded handguns that were concealed, along with ammunition.
Police said further investigation determined Robert Morrison has a prior felony conviction and is prohibited from possessing firearms.
Authorities reported both individuals were taken into custody without incident.
Police said Robert Morrison was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on his own recognizance.
Cori Morrison was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, arraigned in the same court, and released on her own recognizance, according to police.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
