SHARON HILL, PA — A routine vehicle stop by Sharon Hill Police on July 7, 2025, led to the arrest of a man wanted in connection with controlled substance violations, officials announced this week.
At approximately 12:47 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of Chester Pike. During the stop, police identified the driver as Derek Zawojski, 24, who was wanted by the Northampton Township Police Department for alleged drug-related offenses.
According to authorities, Zawojski was taken into custody without incident, highlighting what police described as the diligent efforts of officers to uphold public safety and enforce outstanding warrants. Following his arrest, Zawojski was transported to the George Hill Correctional Facility, where he awaits further legal proceedings.
In a statement, Sharon Hill Police Chief Richard Herron Jr. commended the officers’ work and emphasized the department’s ongoing commitment to community safety.
The charges against Zawojski include arrest prior to requisition, a legal procedure involving the apprehension of individuals wanted in other jurisdictions.
All charges are allegations. Derek Zawojski is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
