WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested a city man following an investigation into an alleged road rage and aggravated menacing incident that prompted officers to recover multiple firearms and weapons.
According to police, officers with the Uniformed Services Division responded around 6:50 p.m. on December 7 to the 300 block of East 35th Street after receiving a report of a road rage confrontation that had allegedly occurred earlier in the unit block of Eastlawn Avenue. Investigators say the incident involved behavior that rose to the level of aggravated menacing.
Officers made contact with the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Leonard Watson, and took him into custody without incident.
During the investigation, police allege they recovered several weapons, including a loaded .380 handgun, a loaded 9mm handgun, a loaded short-barreled AR-style rifle, and a set of brass knuckles.
Watson has been charged with two counts of aggravated menacing, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a manufactured assault weapon. All charges are allegations filed by law enforcement.
Watson was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $25,000 unsecured bail pending further court proceedings.
As with all criminal cases, a suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
