HARRISBURG, PA — A 33-year-old Philadelphia man was sentenced Monday to 25 to 50 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl while he was out on bail in a separate child sexual abuse material case, Attorney General Dave Sunday announced.

Craig Coleman pleaded guilty to trafficking in individuals, unlawful contact with a minor, statutory sexual assault, manufacturing child pornography and related offenses, according to the Office of Attorney General.

A Philadelphia County judge imposed the sentence and designated Coleman a sexually violent predator, requiring him to register as a sex offender for life.

Prosecutors said Coleman had been charged in 2023 with possessing child sexual abuse material and posted bail in November 2024.

While on bail, authorities said, Coleman contacted the teenage victim online and later sexually assaulted her. Prosecutors also said he attempted to prevent the victim from cooperating with law enforcement.

Coleman has a prior 2015 conviction for sexual assault of a minor and manufacturing child sexual abuse material, according to the attorney general’s office.

The case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Michelle Laucella of the Child Predator Section.

The sentencing removes Coleman from the community for decades and stems from crimes committed in Philadelphia County.
