WILMINGTON, DE — A New Castle man with multiple outstanding warrants was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after Wilmington Police interrupted an alleged burglary in progress at a downtown construction site.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, an officer on patrol around 2:50 a.m. on July 29, 2025, observed a man inside a gated construction site near the intersection of 7th and North Pine Streets. The officer approached the individual, later identified as 42-year-old Brad Snitch of New Castle, and determined that he was allegedly attempting to remove metal materials from the property.
Police took Snitch into custody at the scene without incident. A subsequent check revealed that he was wanted on multiple unrelated warrants in both Delaware and Pennsylvania.
Snitch has been charged with the following offenses:
- Burglary in the Third Degree
- Attempted Theft Under $1,500
Following arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 11, Snitch was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $4,000 secured bail.
As with all criminal cases, it is important to note that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation is ongoing.
