AVONDALE, PA — Pennsylvania State Police at Avondale reported multiple incidents across southern Chester County between January 10 and February 12, including a crash with injuries, domestic-related investigations and identity theft cases, according to state police.
In Lower Oxford Township, troopers investigated a single-vehicle crash at 2:23 p.m. February 12 on Commons Drive just northeast of 701 Commons Drive. According to state police, a 55-year-old West Grove woman was driving a 2018 Toyota RAV4 westbound when the vehicle allegedly struck a yellow cement pole after negotiating a left-hand curve. Police said the driver was not wearing a seat belt and sustained suspected minor injuries. She was transported by Union Fire Company EMS to Lancaster General Hospital. State police indicated a traffic citation related to restraint systems is pending.
In East Nottingham Township, troopers responded at approximately 2:08 p.m. February 12 to Waterway Road for a report of a physical domestic incident. According to state police, a 65-year-old Oxford man and a 36-year-old Oxford woman were identified as victim/arrestees. Authorities said appropriate charges will be filed. The investigation remains ongoing.
In East Marlborough Township, troopers responded at approximately 5:27 p.m. February 9 to investigate an identity theft. Police said a 62-year-old Kennett Square man reported that two fraudulent bank accounts had allegedly been opened in his name without authorization. The investigation is ongoing, according to state police.
In New London Township, troopers were dispatched at approximately 12:09 p.m. February 6 to the PSP Avondale station lobby for a report of an assault that reportedly occurred earlier that day. According to state police, a 71-year-old Lincoln University man was listed as the victim and a 26-year-old Lincoln University woman was identified as the arrestee. Troopers are investigating.
In London Britain Township, troopers responded at approximately 11:50 a.m. January 20 to the 200 block of Fern Ridge Road for a report of sexual extortion involving a 13-year-old female. According to state police, the investigation remains active.
In Pennsbury Township, troopers responded January 10 to Kendal-Crosslands retirement community for a report of identity theft. Police said a 72-year-old Kennett Square man was identified as the victim. The investigation is ongoing, according to state police.
Authorities stated all incidents remain under investigation unless otherwise noted.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
