Police Seek Suspect in Violent Robbery That Left Man Critically Injured

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Group is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that critically injured a man during an apparent robbery in the city’s Tacony section.

According to investigators, the incident occurred at approximately 4:46 a.m. on August 8, 2025, inside a residence on the 6100 block of Vandike Street. Police said the shooting took place during a robbery that left one male victim critically wounded. The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading toward the 4700 block of Deveraux Street.

Detectives released surveillance video excerpts showing the suspect, described as a Black or Latino male of medium build with a mustache. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark-colored baseball-style cap with a design on the front and brim, a black bubble jacket with a hood, black shorts with three light-colored horizontal stripes on the right leg, and black athletic shoes worn without socks.
