WARRINGTON, PA — Police in Warrington Township have issued an arrest warrant for a New Jersey man following an investigation into a stolen Tesla and the discovery of suspected narcotics.
According to the Warrington Township Police Department, the incident began on September 11, 2025, when an officer observed a Tesla exiting the parking lot of the Hampton Inn without a registration plate. The driver, later identified as 27-year-old Evans Jean of Union, New Jersey, pulled into the nearby Walmart parking lot before leaving the vehicle and attempting to distance himself from the traffic stop.
When approached, Jean allegedly refused to provide identification, repeatedly questioning the officer’s probable cause and giving multiple false names and dates of birth. He was taken into custody and transported to the police station, where officers confirmed his true identity. Jean was later released pending further investigation, while the Tesla was seized after he failed to produce proof of ownership.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the Tesla had been reported stolen from a dealership in Springfield, New Jersey, sometime between August 27 and September 11, 2025. Police obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and reported finding narcotics inside.
An active warrant has been issued for Jean’s arrest on several charges, including receiving stolen property, false identification to law enforcement, prohibited acts under controlled substance laws, driving while operating privileges are suspended, driving an unregistered vehicle, and failure to provide required financial responsibility.
If you see or know the whereabouts of Evans Jean, contact the Warrington Township Police Department at 215-343-3311.
Authorities emphasized that all charges are allegations and that Jean, like all defendants, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
