WYOMISSING, PA — Wyomissing police responded to a range of incidents Wednesday including vehicle crashes, burglar alarms, medical calls, and a traffic stop that resulted in a drug-related investigation, according to police reports.
Police said the first calls occurred shortly after midnight when officers were dispatched to burglar alarms at two businesses on State Hill Road and Park Road North. According to police, officers checked both locations and found the buildings secure with no employees on site.
Around 1:39 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disabled vehicle on Route 222 near Berkshire Boulevard. Police reported the vehicle was found safely parked on the shoulder, and occupants were using a phone to arrange assistance.
Later that morning at about 6:57 a.m., police responded to Route 422 near Ramp K after a vehicle was reportedly spotted in a ditch. According to police, a tow service removed the vehicle from the scene.
At about 7:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to State Hill Road for a report of property damage. Police said the damage was estimated at approximately $1,000 and information related to the incident was collected.
Police also responded around 8:42 a.m. to an automatic fire alarm on Penn Avenue. According to police, Wyomissing and Spring Township fire departments handled the call.
Later in the morning, officers responded to a 911 open-line call on Reading Boulevard. Police reported the call involved a verbal dispute, but when officers arrived the individuals involved had calmed down and no further action was taken.
At about 10:24 a.m., police responded to Route 222 for a motor vehicle crash. According to officers, the crash involved no injuries and no vehicles required towing.
Police also assisted with a medical call around 12:09 p.m. on Spring Street for a report of an unconscious male. According to police, treatment staff handled the situation.
Around 1:00 p.m., officers documented Megan’s Law information regarding a registered individual working within the borough, police said.
In the afternoon, police responded to a two-vehicle crash at State Hill Road and Granite Pointe Drive. According to officers, everyone involved was unharmed and no vehicles required towing.
Police later responded to several 911 hang-up calls during the evening, including incidents on Woodside Avenue in Reading and Wroxham Drive in Wyomissing. According to police, officers checked the locations and determined no emergency existed.
At about 4:58 p.m., officers responded to Hill Avenue for a report of a confused person and assisted emergency medical services.
Police conducted a traffic stop at 8th Avenue and Penn Avenue around 7:10 p.m. after observing a vehicle being driven at night without headlights. According to police, the driver was warned.
Later that evening at about 8:56 p.m., officers conducted another traffic stop near Park Road North and Hill Avenue for a vehicle code violation. Police reported that suspected narcotics were recovered from the vehicle during the stop, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Police conducted a final traffic stop around 10:19 p.m. on Court Lane near Park Road North. According to police, the driver allegedly turned left from a lane designated for right turns only and was found to have a revoked driver’s license. Officers said the driver was cited.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
