KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Police in Kennett Square have issued an arrest warrant for a Coatesville man accused of cashing a stolen check worth more than $4,200 earlier this year.

Authorities say that on January 31, 2025, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of South Mill Road after receiving a report of stolen checks from a mailbox. The victim was later contacted by her bank’s fraud department, which alerted her that a check totaling $4,284.69 had been fraudulently cashed.

Investigators allege that 21-year-old Malik Brown of Coatesville deposited the stolen check and later withdrew the full amount. According to police, search warrants and video surveillance placed Brown at two separate banks — one where the deposit was made and another where the withdrawal occurred.
