WILMINGTON, DE — Two Wilmington men have been arrested following a months-long investigation into a string of vehicle break-ins reported across several New Castle County communities, authorities announced.
According to the New Castle County Division of Police, the incidents occurred between May and July 2025, with reports coming from neighborhoods including Christiana Farms Townhomes and Coopers Place in Newark, Mermaid Run Condos in Wilmington, and Forest Glen in Bear.
Detectives identified 26-year-old Cedrick Facon and 22-year-old Sadir Black, both of Wilmington, as suspects in the investigation. On Friday, August 22, 2025, members of the Fugitive Apprehension and Surveillance Team, assisted by the U.S. Marshals Task Force, located the men at a motel on Governor Printz Boulevard in Claymont. Authorities executed a search warrant at the location, recovering a handgun and numerous stolen items believed to be tied to the break-ins.
Facon faces a lengthy list of charges, including five felony counts of third-degree burglary, five felony counts of second-degree conspiracy, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and receiving stolen property, in addition to dozens of misdemeanor charges related to theft and fraudulent use of payment cards. He also had outstanding warrants from other Delaware police agencies. Facon was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $101,500 cash bail.
Black has been charged with five felony counts of third-degree burglary, six felony counts of second-degree conspiracy, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and receiving stolen property, along with several misdemeanor counts of theft, conspiracy, and unlawful use of a payment card. He, too, had outstanding warrants from other agencies. Black was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $55,000 cash bail.
The Criminal Investigations Unit continues to review the incidents, and detectives are asking anyone with additional information to contact Detective Dakota Diksa at (302) 395-8231 or by email at Dakota.Diksa@newcastlede.gov.
Authorities stress that all charges are allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
