BENSALEM, PA — A Philadelphia man is facing multiple charges following an alleged shooting incident Thursday night at the Knights Inn Motel on Route 1, according to Bensalem Police.
Authorities said that on October 2, 2025, at approximately 9:11 p.m., officers responded to reports of an armed subject and possible gunfire in the motel parking lot. Upon arrival, police spoke with a driver who reported that an unknown object had struck and shattered the rear side window of his vehicle as he drove through the area. Another witness told investigators he saw a man fire two shots while standing in the lot.
Through investigation, police determined that the suspect had returned to Room 185 of the motel, which was registered to 38-year-old Steven Kilcrest of Knorr Street in Philadelphia. While officers were collecting information at the scene, Kilcrest exited the room unarmed and was taken into custody without incident.
Police later recovered a .40 caliber Hi-Point semi-automatic handgun from the room, along with two spent shell casings from the parking lot. The weapon was loaded with one round in the chamber and five additional rounds in the magazine. Investigators said Kilcrest is legally prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Kilcrest was charged with aggravated assault, persons not to possess a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, reckless endangerment, and criminal mischief. He was arraigned by District Justice Brian Marriott and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $500,000 bail.
All charges are allegations, and a suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
