Philadelphia Man Arrested in Hatboro for Alleged Firearm Purchase Attempt

HATBORO, PA — The Hatboro Police Department has arrested a Philadelphia man wanted on an active warrant after he allegedly attempted to purchase a firearm despite being prohibited from doing so due to a prior conviction.

Police report that on March 19, 2024, at approximately 6:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Continental Armory, located at 9 South York Road, after receiving information about a man at the business who was wanted on an active warrant. When officers arrived, they identified and arrested Eric Brown of Philadelphia.

Further investigation revealed that Brown allegedly attempted to buy a firearm while at the armory. According to police, Brown has a previous conviction for a violent criminal offense, which legally prohibits him from purchasing or possessing firearms.

An arrest warrant for Brown had been issued on April 30, 2024, under docket number MJ-38122-CR-0000094-2024. He was taken into custody by Hatboro Police on October 19, 2025.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
