Pair Arrested in Overnight Wilmington Car Burglary; Stolen Property Recovered

WILMINGTON, DE — Two Wilmington men were taken into custody early Monday morning in connection with an alleged vehicle burglary in the city’s West Center City neighborhood, according to authorities.

Wilmington Police responded to the area of 13th and North Rodney Streets at approximately 1:31 a.m. on July 28, 2025, after receiving reports of individuals breaking into parked vehicles. Upon arrival, officers located two men who were allegedly in possession of items stolen from a vehicle on the 1200 block of North Rodney Street.

The suspects were identified as 52-year-old Kenneth Adams and 26-year-old Hunter Donovan. Both were arrested without incident at the scene.

Following further investigation, police charged both Adams and Donovan with third-degree burglary, second-degree conspiracy, and theft under $1,500. The charges stem from their alleged involvement in unlawfully entering a vehicle and removing property.

Each was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, with bail set at $6,000 secured for both individuals.

As with all criminal matters, the charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation is ongoing, and no additional suspects have been named at this time.
