CLAYMONT, DE — Delaware State Police have arrested a Claymont man in connection with an alleged robbery that unfolded Tuesday evening inside a discount store along Philadelphia Pike, an incident investigators say was resolved within minutes.

Troopers said 42-year-old Ian Eisiminger, of Claymont, was taken into custody following a reported robbery at the Dollar General located at 2605 Philadelphia Pike at approximately 7:30 p.m. on February 2, 2026.

According to police, troopers responding to the scene were provided with a description of the suspect. A short time later, officers located a man matching that description walking along a nearby street and detained him without incident. The individual was identified as Eisiminger.

The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit responded and assumed control of the investigation. Police allege that Eisiminger entered the store and walked through the aisles for several minutes before approaching a store clerk and handing over a note demanding money from the cash register.

Investigators said store employees complied with the demand, after which the suspect allegedly fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Troopers later located clothing items believed to have been worn during the robbery near a bus stop close to the scene, police said.

Eisiminger was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 1, where he was charged with two counts of robbery in the second degree, a felony offense. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $12,000.00 cash bail.

All charges remain allegations. As with all criminal cases, a suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
