WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington police are investigating a shooting that unfolded Wednesday night at a residential intersection, sending a 74-year-old man to the hospital and prompting an appeal for public assistance.
According to police, officers responded at approximately 8:45 p.m. to the area of Lower Oak and Anchorage streets after receiving reports of gunfire. At the scene, officers located a 74-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and listed in stable condition.
Investigators have not released details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting, nor have they identified any suspects or a possible motive. Police said the incident remains under active investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
