Newark Man Accused of Luring and Assaulting Child in Kennett Square

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A Newark, Delaware man has been charged in connection with allegations involving inappropriate contact with a minor in Kennett Square, officials announced this week.

Cristano Lara-Medina, 24, faces multiple serious charges following an investigation by the Kennett Square Police Department. According to authorities, the incident occurred on the 500 block of Center Street in Kennett Square and involved allegations that Lara-Medina engaged in unlawful contact with a minor child.

After gathering evidence, investigators filed charges against Lara-Medina, including luring a child into a motor vehicle, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor, multiple counts of indecent assault, and harassment. An arrest warrant was issued by District Court 15-3-04 on May 21, 2025.

At the request of Kennett Square Police, the New Castle County Police Department executed the arrest warrant on July 1, 2025. Lara-Medina was taken into custody without incident and is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing.
