New York Man Charged After Allegedly Driving Stolen BMW in Lower Moreland

LOWER MORELAND TWP, PA — A New York City man has been arrested after police stopped a vehicle reported stolen out of New York and recovered items of interest during the investigation, according to the Lower Moreland Township Police Department.

Authorities said that on October 10, 2025, officers observed a white BMW X5 traveling westbound on Red Lion Road. The vehicle had been reported stolen on August 21, 2025, and was officially entered into the national system by the New York City Police Department on October 9, 2025.

After initiating a traffic stop, officers identified the driver as 24-year-old Doniyor Karimov, a resident of New York City. Police said Karimov was unable to produce documentation verifying ownership of the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a black ski-style mask and a pair of black gloves located in the trunk. Police did not indicate whether these items were connected to any additional investigations.

Karimov has been charged with receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
