New Jersey Man Arrested at Morgantown Casino on Out-of-State Warrant

MORGANTOWN, PA — A New Jersey man was taken into custody earlier this month at the Hollywood Casino in Caernarvon Township after police discovered he was wanted on an out-of-state warrant, according to authorities.

Police say the incident occurred on August 3, 2025, at approximately 11:42 a.m., when Corporal William Smith responded to a report of several individuals allegedly smoking narcotics in the parking lot of the casino, located at 6021 Morgantown Road in Berks County.

During the investigation, officers encountered John Joseph Capriotti, a New Jersey resident. A records check revealed an active probation violation warrant from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office in New Jersey, issued on June 13, 2025. The warrant was confirmed, and authorities requested that Capriotti be taken into custody.

Authorities stress that all charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
