Multi-State Fugitive Captured After Wild Foot Chase at King of Prussia Mall

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Law enforcement officials in Upper Merion Township arrested a 36-year-old Philadelphia man with multiple outstanding warrants after a dramatic foot pursuit stemming from a theft investigation tied to a vehicle spotted at the King of Prussia Mall.

According to the Upper Merion Township Police Department, officers were alerted on July 31, 2025, to a vehicle associated with a New Jersey cargo theft incident. The vehicle, which had previously fled from police, was located around 2:41 p.m. in the upper level of the Green Parking Garage at the King of Prussia Mall.

Detectives from the department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) established surveillance. At approximately 3:53 p.m., a woman entered the driver’s seat of the parked vehicle. As detectives approached, they discovered a male suspect seated in the front passenger seat. When detectives attempted to speak with him, he allegedly slammed the door on an officer’s hand and then fled on foot.

A pursuit ensued, taking officers across the parking structure, over North Gulph Road, and onto the Pennsylvania Turnpike on-ramp. The suspect was eventually apprehended on the Route 202 South/Route 76 East exit with assistance from UMPD patrol officers. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Following his arrest, police discovered the man had eight active criminal warrants from various jurisdictions, including Chester, Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties, as well as warrants from Bergen and Burlington counties in New Jersey and the Maryland State Police. The charges connected to those warrants range from parole violations and motor vehicle offenses to burglary and larceny.

For his alleged actions in Upper Merion, the suspect has been charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, and recklessly endangering another person. He was transported to Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail.

Authorities emphasized that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
