KENNETT SQUARE, PA — The Kennett Square Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle and possible witnesses connected to a hit-and-run incident that occurred late Monday night in the borough’s business district.
According to police, at approximately 10:28 p.m., a black SUV traveling northbound drove onto the sidewalk, striking a light pole, a pedestrian traffic signal, and several planters before fleeing the scene. Authorities said the vehicle did not stop, and the driver left the area before officers arrived.
No injuries were immediately reported, but police noted that the crash caused property damage in a heavily trafficked area of downtown Kennett Square.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who can identify the vehicle involved to contact Officer Christopher D’Antonio at 484-730-2209 or via email at cdantonio@kennettsquarepolice.org.
All individuals suspected or accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
