Masked Carjacking Ends in Guilty Plea

Court News

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A 21-year-old Philadelphia man pleaded guilty Friday to carjacking and a related firearms charge stemming from the armed theft of a vehicle in Southwest Philadelphia that ended in a police pursuit and a crash into a rowhome porch, federal prosecutors said.

Nasir Warlow entered the plea before U.S. District Judge Joel H. Slomsky in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, according to U.S. Attorney David Metcalf.

Prosecutors said the charges stem from a September 3, 2024, carjacking on the 6700 block of Woodland Avenue.

Authorities said that at about 5:08 a.m., the victim had parked his silver 2017 Nissan Sentra when Warlow and two masked accomplices approached. Warlow allegedly pointed a firearm at the driver, ordered him out of the vehicle, and fled with the others in the car.

A federal grand jury indicted Warlow on March 20, 2025. He pleaded guilty to one count of carjacking and one count of using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

Warlow is scheduled to be sentenced June 8 before Slomsky.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Philadelphia Police Department and is being prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Sandra Urban.
