CHESTER, PA — Authorities in Chester are actively searching for an 18-year-old male suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred Thursday, July 24, in the city’s West End.
According to the City of Chester Police Department, officers responded to the 800 block of McDowell Avenue at approximately 3:06 p.m. on July 24, 2025, following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen. Despite his injuries, the victim was conscious and able to walk. He was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Investigators say the victim was uncooperative with officers at the scene and declined to provide information regarding the identity of the shooter or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A visibly distressed witness, believed to be a close associate of the victim, informed police that the suspect may have been seen entering a nearby residence with a firearm. Officers conducted a search of the home, but no suspects or weapons were located.
Evidence recovered at the scene included multiple spent shell casings and a trail of blood that led to a neighboring property. Preliminary findings suggest the shooting may have resulted from a dispute over an abandoned vehicle in the area.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Nasir Joseph Guiste, 18, who is now wanted on the following charges:
- Attempted Murder (First Degree)
- Aggravated Assault
- Firearm Not to Be Carried Without a License
- Possession of an Instrument of Crime
- Receiving Stolen Property
Guiste is described as a Black male, approximately 5 feet tall, weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He remains at large, and law enforcement officials are urging the public to assist in locating him.
Anyone with information regarding Guiste’s whereabouts or details relevant to the investigation is asked to contact CID Detective Christopher Karr at 484-745-5534 or Chester Police Detective R. Ticknor at 484-609-0431. Tips may also be submitted via email to the addresses provided by investigators.
