AVONDALE, PA — Authorities in Chester County have issued an arrest warrant for a man accused of stabbing another individual multiple times during a violent encounter in Avondale Borough in July.
According to the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residence on the 300 block of East Third Street at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in response to a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from numerous stab wounds. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. His current condition has not been disclosed.
Through investigation, police identified the suspect as Mario Lopez-Sanchez, a 29-year-old Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes. He is described as approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds.
Authorities allege that Lopez-Sanchez arrived at the residence during the evening of July 18 and assaulted the victim with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds before fleeing the scene. A warrant for his arrest was formally issued on July 20, charging him with aggravated assault and other related criminal offenses.
Police are urging anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of Lopez-Sanchez to contact Detective Gregory Smith at the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department by calling 610-268-2907, extension 119.
As with all criminal matters, it is important to note that Lopez-Sanchez is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation remains ongoing.
