Man Surrenders Weeks After Shooting Leaves Two Injured

WILMINGTON, DE — A man has been charged in connection with a February shooting that left two people injured, police said.

According to Wilmington Police, officers responded at approximately 7:56 p.m. on February 23 to the area of West 4th Street and North Scott Street for a reported shooting.

Police reported that two gunshot victims were located and later arrived at a hospital in stable condition.

The investigation was assigned to Detective Michael Hayman of the Criminal Investigations Division.

According to investigators, Terry Walley, 48, was identified as the suspect and warrants were obtained for his arrest.

Authorities said Walley turned himself in at the Wilmington Police Department on March 19 and was taken into custody without incident.

Police reported Walley has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, and discharging a firearm on a street.

According to authorities, he was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $273,000 cash-only bail.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
