Man Fatally Shot in Broad Daylight Near Wilton Boulevard; New Castle Police Investigating

NEW CASTLE, DE — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon in New Castle, leaving one man dead and prompting a full-scale response from local detectives.

According to the New Castle County Division of Police, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Wilton Boulevard and Stonebridge Boulevard at approximately 3:58 p.m. on July 22, 2025, following reports of gunfire.

Responding officers located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased despite attempts to save his life.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit and the Evidence Detection Unit were called to the scene and have assumed responsibility for the case. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim, nor have they disclosed any information regarding possible suspects or motives at this stage.
