BEAR, DE — Authorities are investigating a robbery that occurred Monday evening outside a local grocery store in Bear, where a man was allegedly assaulted and threatened with a firearm during a confrontation over money.
According to the Delaware State Police, the incident took place on August 4, 2025, at approximately 7:57 p.m. in the parking lot of Mexico Grocery, located at 626 Pulaski Highway. Troopers were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of a robbery that had occurred shortly before their arrival.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 43-year-old man was approached by two unidentified individuals who reportedly confronted him about a financial dispute. During the encounter, one of the suspects allegedly struck the victim and took his cell phone, while the other displayed a handgun. Both suspects fled the scene on foot or in an unknown direction.
The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization. As of this writing, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The suspects are described as two Hispanic males believed to be in their 40s or 50s. No surveillance images or footage have been released by law enforcement at this time.
