Man Arrested in Huntingdon Valley Home Burglary That Left House Ransacked, Jewelry Stolen

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA — A man wanted in connection with a 2022 residential burglary in Lower Moreland Township has been taken into custody, authorities announced this week.

According to the Lower Moreland Township Police Department, 29-year-old Cesar Almeida-Casas was arrested on July 11, 2025, and transported to Montgomery County Correctional Facility, where he awaits further legal proceedings. His arrest stems from an outstanding warrant issued on October 11, 2023, by Magisterial District Judge Jay S. Friedenberg.

The case dates back to July 17, 2022, when officers responded to a reported burglary at a residence along Welsh Road in Huntingdon Valley. Upon arrival, police found signs of forced entry, including a broken rear glass door, and determined that the interior had been heavily ransacked. The reported loss included a significant amount of high-end jewelry and cash.

During the initial investigation, detectives processed the scene and collected physical evidence, including a bloodstain found on the carpet. Through forensic and investigative efforts, two suspects were ultimately identified: Henry Castillo-Suarez and Cesar Almeida-Casas. Arrest warrants were issued for both individuals following the development of probable cause.

Almeida-Casas now faces several charges related to the incident, including:

  • One count of burglary of a building with overnight accommodations
  • One count of criminal trespass—breaking into a structure
  • One count of receiving stolen property
  • One count of theft by unlawful taking of movable property

Authorities have not disclosed the status of the second suspect.
