WILMINGTON, DE — A 45-year-old man was taken into custody Monday morning after police say he was identified in connection with a reported burglary in the city.
According to Wilmington Police, an officer assigned to the Special Operations Division was flagged down around 11:30 a.m. in the 600 block of North Tatnall Street regarding a burglary incident. Police reported that officers conducted an area canvas and located a person matching the suspect description in the 300 block of West 7th Street.
Police said officers made contact with Eric Szulborski, 45, and took him into custody without incident. Authorities reported that most of the property allegedly stolen from a vehicle was recovered at the time of the arrest.
Investigators said Szulborski was also wanted on an outstanding warrant issued by Kent County Superior Court.
According to police, Szulborski has been charged with third-degree burglary and theft of $1,500 or greater, in addition to the outstanding warrant. Court records show he was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
