Man Accused of Theft at Target

WYOMISSING, PA — A 23-year-old man was charged February 12 after he was accused of concealing merchandise and leaving a Target store without paying, according to the Spring Township Police Department.

Police stated officers were dispatched to Target, 2769 Paper Mill Road, after store asset protection personnel reported a retail theft suspect in custody.

According to police, the store’s asset protection manager told officers that Stephen Preval, 23, was allegedly observed on surveillance video concealing items inside a backpack. Authorities said Preval allegedly passed all points of sale without attempting to pay for the merchandise.

Police reported the total value of the items allegedly concealed and not paid for was $284.95.

Preval was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property, according to the department.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
