Man Accused of Striking Woman With Laptop in Kennett Square

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A 26-year-old man is facing multiple charges after police said he allegedly struck a woman with a broken laptop during an altercation last week.

According to the Kennett Square Police Department, officers responded on February 17 at approximately 9:52 p.m. to the 600 block of Meadow Creek Lane in Kennett Square Borough for a reported disturbance.

Police stated that during the altercation, Joshua Laaksonen, 26, allegedly struck a female victim with a laptop that had been broken, causing redness and swelling to her face.

Laaksonen was charged with simple assault, criminal mischief, and harassment, police said. The charges were filed in District Court 15-3-04.

Police reported that Laaksonen was arrested on February 25. The case is pending a preliminary hearing.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
