Man Accused of Selling Fatal Fentanyl Batch

Arrest

HARRISBURG, PA — An Allegheny County man has been charged in connection with the alleged delivery of fentanyl that investigators say caused a fatal overdose in March 2025, Attorney General Dave Sunday announced.

According to the Office of Attorney General, 40-year-old Brennon Ely was charged by Scott Township police, with assistance from the Bureau of Narcotics Investigation, with felony drug delivery resulting in death, possession with intent to deliver and related offenses.

Authorities stated Ely was recently taken into custody at his home in Pitcairn and is awaiting arraignment.

Investigators allege Ely provided fentanyl/heroin, packaged in bags stamped “Carlitos Way,” to a Scott Township man who was later found dead inside his home.

Police said officers responded to the residence and discovered the deceased man along with multiple fentanyl/heroin bags bearing the same stamp.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, investigators analyzed cellphone data and conducted additional investigative steps that allegedly led to Ely. Authorities further allege Ely later sold fentanyl/heroin to an undercover agent during a controlled purchase. Police stated Ely brought a small child to that transaction.
