HATBORO, PA — A routine traffic stop in Hatboro escalated into a chaotic confrontation Wednesday afternoon when a driver allegedly attempted to flee while an officer was partially inside the vehicle, police said.

According to the Hatboro Police Department, at approximately 12:33 p.m. on February 11, 2026, an officer conducted a traffic stop near East County Line Road and Oakdale Avenue after identifying a vehicle associated with an individual who had an active arrest warrant.

Police reported that during the stop, officers confirmed the operator, identified as Scott Myers, had an active warrant issued by the State of Delaware. When officers began to take Myers into custody, authorities allege he shifted the vehicle into drive and attempted to flee while an officer was partially positioned in the open driver’s window.

The vehicle became disabled, police said, but Myers allegedly continued to physically resist and assaulted officers attempting to place him in handcuffs. Officers ultimately gained control of Myers and secured him in custody.

Myers was arraigned and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after allegedly being unable to post bail. The matter is pending a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Stephens at District Court 38-1-22.

He faces charges including aggravated assault on police, disarming a law enforcement officer, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, simple assault, resisting arrest, and recklessly endangering another person.

The charges against Myers are allegations. As with all criminal proceedings, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
