KENNETT SQUARE, PA — The Kennett Square Police Department has confirmed that a man wanted in connection with an alleged attempted bank fraud has been taken into custody in Lehigh County.
Authorities said that on October 14, 2025, 45-year-old Horace Keiffer was located and detained in Lehigh County, where he is currently being held pending legal proceedings. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in connection with charges filed earlier this year.
According to investigators, the case dates back to November 8, 2024, when officers received a report of an attempted theft involving a fraudulent check. The victim’s bank alerted him that an individual had allegedly tried to cash a forged check in the amount of $2,200.
Police obtained surveillance footage from the bank showing a white male presenting the check to a teller. The name and address printed on the check, as well as the individual’s appearance, allegedly matched information linked to Horace Keiffer in Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) records.
Following the investigation, District Court 15-3-04 issued an arrest warrant for Keiffer on February 3, 2025. He has been charged with forgery, theft by deception, possessing an instrument of crime, and disorderly conduct. The alleged incident occurred in the 600 block of Meadowcreek Lane in Kennett Square.
All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
