Man Accused of Beating Family Member in Early Morning Fight

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A 31-year-old man was taken into custody early Thursday after police said he allegedly assaulted a family member during a domestic altercation in the borough.

According to the Kennett Square Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 1:08 a.m. February 26 in the 500 block of Las Rosas Drive.

Authorities allege that Jeremiah Rivera, 31, kicked and punched a family member in the face during the altercation, causing a large contusion, bruising and a laceration to the victim’s left eye.

Rivera was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking at Chester County Prison, police said.

He has been charged with simple assault and harassment. Charges were filed in Magisterial District Court 15-3-04.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
