Man Accused in Wilmington Robbery Arrested After Area Search

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington police said a man accused in a robbery and assault was taken into custody following a morning investigation in the city’s East Side neighborhood.

Police reported that officers with the Uniformed Services Division responded around 7:44 a.m. on February 27 to the 1100 block of Clifford Brown Walk for a report of a robbery and assault.

According to police, officers conducted an area canvass and located a person matching the suspect description in the same block.

Police said officers made contact with Terrence Neely, 35, and took him into custody without incident. According to investigators, officers also recovered property that had been reported stolen from the victim.

Authorities reported that Neely has been charged with robbery in the second degree and assault in the third degree.

Police said Neely was arraigned in New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $7,000 cash-only bail.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
