Major Drug Bust Nets 14 Suspects, Fentanyl and Firearms in Somerset County

Arrest

HARRISBURG, PA — Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that 14 individuals have been charged following a sweeping drug-trafficking investigation that led to the seizure of narcotics and firearms across Somerset and Cambria counties.

The charges, filed this week, are the result of a months-long investigation conducted by the Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigation in collaboration with the Somerset County District Attorney’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, and multiple local law enforcement agencies. Thirteen of the accused were arrested during coordinated operations this week, while one remains at large.

Authorities said the investigation focused primarily on drug activity in Somerset County, where surveillance operations, controlled purchases, and search warrants led to significant seizures. Two additional operations took place in Cambria County, supported by the Cambria County Drug Task Force and municipal police departments.

In total, law enforcement officials reported confiscating more than 20,000 doses of fentanyl, along with quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, oxycodone, Vicodin, and marijuana. Several illegal firearms were also recovered during the operation.

“Every community has unique circumstances, but there is a common thread law enforcement finds throughout the Commonwealth — drug dealers value dollars over human lives, and carry firearms to protect their lucrative trades,” Attorney General Sunday said. He commended Somerset County District Attorney Molly Metzgar and other agencies for their cooperation in the effort.

District Attorney Metzgar expressed gratitude for the statewide collaboration, stating, “I appreciate being able to work with Attorney General Dave Sunday and his Office, and am thankful for all of the support and resources that he has provided to our county to ensure that this major round-up could be accomplished.”

The arrests mark more than 20 drug-related cases brought in Somerset County this year by the Attorney General’s Office in cooperation with local police departments.

All charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
