LOWER CHICHESTER, PA — A Delaware arrest warrant led to the apprehension of a Lower Chichester man on Tuesday afternoon after local authorities were called to assist with cross-state enforcement efforts.

According to the Lower Chichester Township Police Department, officers were contacted by Delaware State Police around 3:32 p.m. on July 22, 2025, regarding a warrant for a Pennsylvania resident wanted in connection with a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order violation that reportedly occurred within the state of Delaware.

The individual, identified as 37-year-old Joseph Peticca, was taken into custody at his home without incident. Because the alleged offense took place outside of Pennsylvania, jurisdictional protocols required local law enforcement to file separate charges under Pennsylvania law.

Peticca has been charged in Pennsylvania with “arrest prior to requisition” — a procedural measure that enables the state to detain an individual pending extradition to another jurisdiction.

Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the alleged PFA violation or when Peticca is expected to be transferred to Delaware custody. The extradition process will proceed in accordance with applicable interstate legal procedures.

As with all criminal matters, it is important to note that a suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
