WYOMISSING, PA — A woman wanted on an outstanding warrant was taken into custody late Tuesday following a reported domestic incident, capping a day that included crashes, alarms and a hit-and-run investigation, according to the Wyomissing Police Department.
Police said officers were dispatched at 11:42 p.m. to Woodland Road for a domestic situation. Upon arrival, a male involved had left the scene and a female at the residence was reportedly uncooperative. Officers determined the woman had an active warrant and took her into custody. Police also reported recovering Act 64 narcotics at the scene.
Earlier in the evening, officers responded to a hit-and-run crash near Route 12 and Route 422. Police said the driver involved was not injured and the vehicle was towed.
At approximately 5:13 p.m., officers were dispatched to a four-vehicle crash on Route 422 at North Wyomissing Boulevard. Police reported no injuries and said one vehicle was towed from the scene.
Police also investigated a two-vehicle crash at Penn and Reading avenues shortly after 9 a.m. No injuries were reported and information was exchanged, according to the department.
Multiple burglar alarms were reported throughout the day, including on Berkshire Boulevard and State Hill Road. In one case on State Hill Road, officers found a rear door unsecured but reported that everything appeared in order after checking the building. Other alarm activations were determined to be false alarms, police said.
Officers additionally responded to abandoned vehicles on Abington Drive and Wellington Boulevard, where vehicles with expired registrations were tagged and notices sent to owners, according to police.
Other incidents included a reported panic alarm in Reading that employees said was accidentally activated, a disorderly conduct call on Ridgewood Road that police described as resolved, a potential fraud investigation on Reading Boulevard and a traffic stop on Penn Avenue where a driver was cited for operating without a license after making an illegal turn into a business parking lot.
Police reported a total of 17 incidents for February 18.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
