WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington police are investigating an alleged shooting that left a 13-year-old boy injured late Tuesday night in the city’s West Center City neighborhood.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 9:59 p.m. in the 700 block of West 5th Street. Upon arrival, police located a 13-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Authorities said the juvenile victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition. No additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or a possible suspect were immediately released.
The incident remains under active investigation, and police said further information will be made public as it becomes available.
