WYOMISSING, PA — A string of late-night emergencies, suspicious activity, and alleged thefts kept Wyomissing Police officers moving across the borough on Sunday, January 12, according to the department’s official daily incident log.

The first call came just after 2 a.m. when a 911 hang-up was received from an apartment complex on North Park Road. The call could not be traced to a specific unit and no one answered when police attempted to return the call. Officers surveyed the area but found nothing out of the ordinary, and the incident was closed as secured.

Shortly before dawn, Wyomissing officers assisted Shillington Police on Sterley Street after a report that a man who was allegedly subject to a protection-from-abuse order might be intoxicated and in possession of a firearm. Police determined the man was not intoxicated and was not in possession of a firearm, and the situation was resolved without further action.

Later in the morning, a woman on Woodland Road reported that she had misplaced her wallet in a lobby area and later found it with approximately $200 missing. She asked police to document the incident in case her credit cards or identifying information had been compromised. The matter was recorded for informational purposes as an alleged theft.

Officers were also dispatched to Meadowlark Road for a wildlife emergency after a deer became trapped in a fence. Due to the animal’s injuries, it was humanely euthanized, and the homeowner was given contact information for the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

In the afternoon, police responded to Woodland Road for a report of a woman in her 50s who was unable to care for herself. Emergency medical services took over the call and handled the situation. A short time later, officers checked on a reported welfare concern on State Hill Road involving a woman allegedly nodding off in a black sedan, but they were unable to locate the vehicle or anyone in distress.

As night fell, officers assisted West Reading Police after a report of three individuals dressed in black allegedly going through vehicles on Linden Lane. Wyomissing officers located the men and stood by while West Reading Police conducted their investigation into the alleged attempted vehicle break-ins .

Traffic enforcement rounded out the day, with multiple vehicles stopped across the borough for alleged equipment and registration violations, including a plate light issue on Eighth Avenue, an improperly displayed temporary tag near Route 422, daytime running lights being used instead of full headlights on Route 222, and a cracked windshield on North Park Road. All of those stops resulted in warnings rather than citations.

No arrests were reported in the log, and all of the alleged criminal or suspicious incidents remain subject to further investigation. Any person who may later be identified as a suspect, arrestee, or defendant in these matters is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
