Late-Night Brawl at Kennett Square Business Leaves Employee Injured

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Kennett Square police say a late-night disturbance at a downtown business escalated into an alleged assault early Sunday morning, leaving an employee injured and resulting in charges against two individuals.

According to the Kennett Square Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 2:19 a.m. on January 25 to a business in the 200 block of East State Street after a report of an assault. Police said the incident occurred as staff members were attempting to close the establishment and asked a group of patrons to leave.

Investigators said the group allegedly became aggressive during the interaction. Police reported that a male suspect, identified as 38-year-old Alejandro Galvan-Gonzalez of Perkiomenville, allegedly punched the victim in the head approximately three times with a closed fist. Authorities said a female suspect, identified as 28-year-old Thalia Guzman of Eagleville, allegedly bit the victim, causing a contusion to the right side of his upper back.

Police said a criminal complaint was filed, and charges were lodged in District Court 15-3-04. Both Galvan-Gonzalez and Guzman were charged with simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness in connection with the incident. The case is pending a preliminary hearing.

The incident was classified by police as an assault and occurred at 201 East State Street in Kennett Square.

All charges are allegations. Galvan-Gonzalez and Guzman are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
