Kennett Square Police Arrest Two After Alleged Hit-and-Run and Late-Night Altercation

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A late-night hit-and-run investigation in Kennett Square led to the arrest of two individuals after an alleged confrontation with responding officers early Sunday morning.

According to the Kennett Square Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 1:11 a.m. on November 2, 2025, following a report of a vehicle striking an object before pulling into a driveway on the 300 block of East South Street.

When officers arrived, they located a running vehicle in the driveway and encountered the driver, identified as 27-year-old Joel Sanchez-Dominguez. Police allege that Sanchez-Dominguez became combative as officers attempted to approach him.

During the encounter, a woman inside the nearby residence, later identified as 20-year-old Alicea Matias, allegedly approached officers in an erratic manner and interfered with the ongoing investigation. Both individuals were subsequently taken into custody and transported to Central Booking at Chester County Prison.

Sanchez-Dominguez faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, obstructing the administration of law, driving under the influence, driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked, and several related traffic offenses. Matias has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, obstruction, resisting arrest, and harassment.

Charges were filed in District Court 15-3-04, and both cases are pending preliminary hearings.

Police remind the public that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
