KENNETT SQUARE, PA — The Kennett Square Police Department has announced that a bench warrant has been issued for a local man who failed to appear for a preliminary hearing earlier this month in connection with an alleged DUI and vehicle theft investigation.
District Court 15-3-04 issued the warrant for 21-year-old Yohan Salinas of Kennett Square after he did not appear for his hearing on October 8, 2025. The charges stem from an incident that began in the early morning hours of August 23, when officers conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 GMC in the 600 block of East Cypress Street for reportedly failing to maintain its lane.
Police say Salinas, who was identified as the driver, showed signs of intoxication and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. A chemical breath test later indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.104%. He was processed and released pending a summons.
Later that morning, around 11:37 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle matching the description of the GMC that Salinas had been operating during his DUI arrest. Following the report, an arrest warrant was issued for Salinas, charging him with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, DUI, false identification to law enforcement, and related traffic offenses.
Salinas is described as a Hispanic male, 21 years old, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Kennett Square Police Department at 610-444-0501.
All individuals accused or charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
