Juvenile Shot Near Popular Wyomissing Venue; Police Launch Multi-Agency Manhunt

WYOMISSING, PA — Authorities are investigating a shooting that injured a juvenile male on Tuesday evening in Wyomissing and are asking for the public’s help in locating the individuals involved.

According to police, the incident occurred on August 12, 2025, at approximately 5:20 p.m., when officers were dispatched to the rear of 1037 Bern Road following a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Investigators say the victim reported he and two friends had just left The Works, a nearby entertainment venue, when they were approached by two unidentified individuals. An altercation ensued, during which the juvenile was shot.

Police administered first aid until EMS crews from Western Berks Ambulance arrived. The victim was transported to Reading Hospital, where he is receiving treatment and is expected to recover.

A large-scale search involving multiple law enforcement agencies—including police departments from Wyomissing, West Reading, Spring Township, Exeter, Cumru, and Reading, along with the Pennsylvania State Police—was launched immediately after the shooting. The search included aerial assistance from a state police helicopter and an Exeter Police Department drone.

Despite an extensive ground and air effort, the suspects were not located. Train service in the area was temporarily suspended while nearby railroad tracks were examined.

Police emphasize that any suspects identified in connection with this incident are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
